How often does Poop Patrol come out?
Most Poop Patrol customers prefer once or twice each week. Other service schedules are available. If you would like to make a customized service arrangement, please call us at 1-866-734-7667.
Is it possible to get a one-time-only service?
Sure! This is the perfect solution if you are selling your home, hosting a garden party, or simply too busy to deal with one more household chore. We walk your yard, thoroughly scoop and bag the waste into environmentally-responsible oxo-biodegradable bags, and add it to our pooppower.ca program. Your pet’s poop will be turned into power! A one-time-only service is easily arranged, and be sure to ask about our odour eliminator lawn and patio treatment. Learn more details about our Seasonal Clean Service.
Is there an extra charge for my first service call?
With your prior approval, there may be an extra charge for your first service if there has been a lot of accumulation of waste. Once onsite, our Patroller will be able to assess the situation and, if necessary, use a stopwatch to record the overall cleaning time, against which our per minute/seasonal clean rate gets applied. You can expect this to be the case for a Spring cleaning.
Should I unlock my gate?
Yes. Since Poop Patrollers are not to climb or jump over fences, please have your gate unlocked on your service day. If you like, you may give Poop Patrol a key or the combination of an existing lock or gate.
Service Cancellation
If you must cancel your scheduled pick up service, we require a 48-hour cancellation notice during office hours Monday to Friday, by phone or email to head office, otherwise the full charge will apply.
Can Poop Patrol work with my dog in the yard?
In most cases – yes. We get along well with dogs. However, there are some cases when a dog will not let our worker into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to clean the yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine the dog. We don’t want to take unnecessary risks with your dog or our Patrollers.
PLEASE NOTE: Until COVID-19 pandemic conditions and restrictions are lifted, we ask that all our customers and their pets stay indoors while we work.
When the leaves fall, what should I do?
Although we do our best to clean up poop in your yard when the leaves have fallen, it’s important for you to remove them as best you can before we arrive. Unfortunately, we cannot honour our service guarantee if we can’t find the poop under the leaves.
Does Poop Patrol work in the winter or on in other poor weather conditions?
Yes. As long as you keep feeding your dogs, Poop Patrol is happy to service your property. Dogs keep making messes all year long and Poop Patrol strives to provide continuous pick up service whatever the weather conditions — snow, sleet, rain, or radiant sunshine! Sometimes, the weather just will not cooperate with us. From time to time we MUST declare a SNOW DAY and take our vehicles off the road.
Special Weather Alerts: When a special weather alert is posted by Environment Canada in one of our work areas, we put safety first and take applicable crew members off the road. We monitor extreme summer (heat) or winter (snow and cold) conditions and adjust our schedule accordingly. Our aim is to service missed locations within 1-3 days after a storm system has passed and/or when it is safe to do so, even if that means working Saturdays.
What about holidays?
Here is our 2023 schedule:
- Family Day: Monday, February 20, 2023 – off
- Good Friday: Friday, April 7, 2023 – working
- Victoria Day: Monday, May 22, 2023 – off
- Canada Day: Saturday, July 1, 2023 TBD
- Labour Day: Monday, September 4, 2023 – off
- Thanksgiving Day: Monday, October 9, 2023 – off
- Christmas Day: Monday, December 25, 2023 – off
- Boxing Day: Tuesday, December 26, 2023 – off
If your service falls on a stat holiday that we are not working, we will service your yard within 1 or 2 business days, following.
I am moving – what should I do about my Poop Patrol service?
If you are an existing Poop Patrol customer, there’s no reason your yard maintenance service has to end just because you are moving. We ask that you notify us with your new address and your moving date, as soon as possible. Provided that we service your new neighborhood, we will follow right behind you! The transition will be seamless.
Do you collect pre-bagged dog waste from your customers?
Yes. Our Patrollers are happy to pick up your pre-bagged dog waste and we will ensure it is directed to the appropriate facility. In addition to following municipal regulations and never transporting liquid waste, we are rapidly diverting more and more waste away from landfill by aligning our business with evolving environmental practices.
PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the weight of the content left for us, there may be an additional charge.
What does Poop Patrol mean by SATISFACTION GUARANTEED?
We promise that you will get service you are happy with or you don’t have to pay for it! We know our business depends on doing excellent work, and it’s the quality of our service on which we stake our reputation. We’re working very hard to make the name Poop Patrol mean reliable, high-quality, customer-focused service.
We strive to provide perfect service, but if there is ever a time when our service* is not completely satisfactory, please send us an email with the details so we can address your concerns right away. We will make it right either by coming back to re-clean the yard within 24 hours, or by crediting your account so you won’t be charged for either cleaning.
(*seasonal cleans will be charged at the regular rate, but the return trip is on us.)
